Excellent Sequel to an Excellent Short

I'm a big fan of Ana's work and writing, and My Alpha is no exception. Taking place a year after the happy ending of The Alpha, not all is well for the couple; the lack of sex between Aiden and Brandon is a point of friction, and Aiden is increasingly worried of their relationship failing due to his asexuality, like his past romances. The fact that their lack of consummation is preventing Aiden from becoming a full part of werewolf society only adds to the stresses, and leads Aiden to believe that, destined mate or not, he simply isn't good for Brandon.

As I've come to expect from Ana, the writing is of high quality and the plot is crisp and clean, lacking superfluous fluff or distractions from the couple. There are no cases of stupid misunderstandings or problems that nearly break them apart that could've been solved with ten seconds of talking; the tension between Aiden and Brandon is real and believable. The fact that the werewolf society isn't completely necessary (the main story is about an sexual and asexual person in a relationship) highlights Ana's skill as a writer and observer of human nature.

I give the story a 4.5, rounded up to a 5. A very good read, and it helped me understand my asexual friends more. If you want a non-typical romance without BS and a high dosage of humor, pick this up ASAP.

Follow up

This is a super short follow up to The Alpha and His Ace and I would recommend reading it before this one. I enjoyed getting to see Aiden and Bran. It's been a year and Aiden is still harboring doubts. I love how steadfast Bran is and how he proves that Aiden is his over and over again. Lovely ending.

Ace Positive follow up

As an ace, I'm excited to read more about asexually with original characters that are relatable, etc. This follow up wasn't as enjoyable, the cake thing isn't for me, but I still was still pleased to read about the ace/non-ace couple. Wished it was longer and more fleshed out, but for the .99 price it was worth it to patronize an ace-positive work of fiction. Hope there will be a longer follow up.

Perceive - the perfect next step in the Katon University Series

This book is the 2nd in the Katon University Series and is the perfect next step. Andrea is continuing to make readers want more while deepening the story line. I really did not want to put this book down, and finished it in less than a day. Yes I thought this was a wonderful book! Just in case you weren't sure. Andrea's writing has gotten stronger with this series. Although it is a YA book, it is perfect for anyone who believes that it is possible to have magic living among us.
If you haven't read book 1, get that one first to get the full effect. There are obviously things that start in book 1 that are fleshed out in book 2 that you might miss if you just start with book 2.

The love story between Nicole and Austin continue to blossom in this book as well as Nicole's powers. Or I should say, as Nicole learns how to draw out her powers and use them as they were meant to be used.

There is a little more "darkness" in this book than in the first but I believe it is fine for the YA reader as there isn't detailed evil or horrors, blood or gore. This "darkness" is part of how Nicole learns more of her powers, how she can use them and grow. But Nicole is part of the light so the darkness does not over take her or those she loves.

I can't wait to get book 3, Observe, that is coming out in a few weeks. I want to see what else Nicole and Austin find as Nicole learns more of her blossoming powers; her "interesting" family members, both alive and "semi" alive; as well as what trials she will be put through as she learns more of the Aretes and Tarians and just what they need her for.

I did receive my copy of Perceive as a gift, but had to share my thoughts as soon as I had finished.

A Goosebump Raising Adventure

Totally creepy! I love the way the magic causes so many problems for our characters. Also, Nicole's character continues to grow as her ability to channel increases and the truth about who she is comes out in the open. A ghostly woman claims Nicole is destined to save the Aretes, but her own parents want to destroy her kind. When the toll to gain the means to end something her ancestor created and right a horrible wrong becomes to high, she wonders who she should trust.

This book kept me guessing until the end. And beyond. Even though Nicole gains what she's after, she has to wonder what path it has sent her on. I still don't know who is telling the truth and what other craziness could happen. The spores and giant tentacle in the brain were so intense. It was also great to see some elements from the novellas in the series to come back into play to aid Nicole. Also, she and Austen make an awesome couple, but I feel things worked out for them too easily. I wonder what will happen next to test their relationship. If you don't mind having some pretty bizarre dreams and some spine tingling adventure, you'll like this book.

The Story Continues with Nicole and Austin

Nicole and Austin continue in the 3rd book of the Katon University series. Nicole continues to work on her channeling and travels to Moses Lake, WA to work with a elderly gentleman, Albert. The spiders follow her and she sees the old woman again. There is something the woman wants her to do and Nicole believes her. While at Moses Lake, Nicole finds out about a meteor that was there and then disappeared. Her power has something to do with that meteor. And the family that lives nearby is getting sicker by the day

Will Nicole complete what the old woman wants her to do? Will Nicole learn the secrets that her parents and the old woman hide?

Both Andrea and Austin continue to grow in this story and so do their feeling for each other. Andrea Pearson has woven a wonderful but frightening story about two young people who really don't know what life has in store for them. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

but Superintendent Battle provides a nice balance of adult common sense

Agatha Christie's "voice" is ironic and provides an interesting view of the (sometimes exceedingly tedious) upper classes with which she was so familiar. Her usual plucky female lead character ("Bundle") is present, as are several suitable young "asses," (her word for them, and I agree), but Superintendent Battle provides a nice balance of adult common sense. Lord Caterham is a riot and a fun character to follow. Class and race prejudices are now politically incorrect, but Dame Christie had no qualms about expressing her views. If the final exposition is a bit too long, that was the style of her mysteries and a bit of a let down at the end.

The first book I read of Sala's was Second Chances. I kept reading her books and have never been disappointed This is another If you get a chance to read Second Chance do so. You will not put it down till you are through. You can feel the emotion of the characters. Loved it. Sharon Sala is one of a kind ands she is a truly gifted writer. Nobody does it like her.

Quick and enjoyable

The plot wasn't anything unusual, completely predictable it remained one-dimensional and without depth. The only twist was the heroine's friend, who saved the hero/ine when they were on the run. Needless to say that this turn was so blunt that I laughed out when I read it! There weren't any background descriptions and only one elementary subcharacter.

The main characters served all the classical stereotypes of the genre, although the heroine was displayed as a very strong and dedicated to her career woman. The relationship between the hero/ine didn't need any time to develop - they just fell for each other very quickly.

Despite all the above, this was a enjoyable read. I don't know, maybe the dialogues between the hero/ine saved the book. In any case, this was an agreeable read.

Great Book!

I've read many books on nutrition and weigh loss over the years and must say that I think this one is great! I can relate to the authors straightforward and no-nonsense approach, and I appreciate the fact that it is a quick read. The message is simple, eat foods that make you feel good, eliminate foods that make you feel bad. Although this seems like an obvious message, I feel that this book sets itself apart by acknowledging that many people have emotional limitations that interfere with their ability to make better eating decisions. The book contains tips on how to deal with your overall state of well-being, and information about how certain ailments can be worsened or improved depending on which foods you are eating. All in all, I thought that this book was very practical and well-written: )

Just when I thought I new all there was to know about deflategate

This is by far, hands down, without a doubt, THE most accurate and thorough analysis of the deflategate scandal I've found so far. I was quite pleased to find such a complete collection of details of the entire ordeal, from the start to finish this book covers it all.
